New York startup Aereo announced Tuesday that it was expanding its service to 22 cities across the country in late spring,Online Higher Education. after launching in New York in 2012.
Aside from watching live television, Aereo allows viewers to pause,Free insurance info. rewind and st-forward, like a DVR. Customers dont need a cable subscription, but pay for membership plans costing $1 a day, $8 a month or $80 a year.
Its not all good news for the company, though.
The service is also expanding to the entire New York media market, which includes much of northern New Jersey, Virigina Lam, a spokeswoman for Aereo, told NJ.com.
BERGEN COUNTY Residents of the New York suburbs, including Bergen County, will soon be able to use a service that allows them to stream live broadcast television on their computers, tablets and phones.
Aereo is compatible with iOS, Apple TV, most web browsers and Roku.
